Determined

One leg down, one bad heart, and who knows how many  life’s, I arrived home.

I never knew about the search parties or the fliers that were put up seeking my return.

I remember roaming for days, running away from strangers, eating out of dumpsters, sleeping under bridges beside some real humans, but I do remember the car that hit me and didn’t stop.

I finally recognized my house by the window I used to sit by looking out at this neighborhood.

I guess I looked like a down and out kitty when they hear by screech and opened the door and all together said, “Flash, he’s here.”
